Why is it strange? It's not even a standard config, is it? Which nvidia card,
what brand and model of hard drives? This is going to vary too much for anyone
else to likely give you the right answer.

2K is out of bounds.

The Apple specs are:
        • Line voltage: 100-120V AC or 200-240V AC (wide-range power supply
input voltage)
        • Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz single phase
        • Current: Maximum of 12A (low-voltage range) or 6A (high-voltage range)

12A * 100V = 1200 Watts maximum draw (The Maximum would seem to be the higher
value, 120V *12A, but since the power supply is rated for 100-120V, it can
never expect to pull more than 1200 Watts).

I seem to recall that the G5 towers drew about 1050-1100W and that the Xeons
draw a bit less. But the specific card in the PCIe slots will have a massive
impact, as they are the largest single power draw in the machine.

The Xeon chips themselves draw about 65W each, each hard drive draws about
10-15W when running (but a lot more to spin up) unless it's a newer drive, in
which case I think the draw is closer to 5W. The Graphic card might pull 200W
all by itself on startup.

If you're trying to get a UPS system for your machine, you probably need to
start around 1500VA.

Of course, the maximum draw will only be experienced by a machine with 4
drives, two optical drives, full memory slots, and 4 PCIe cards, and even then
only at startup. When idle, the Mac Pro draws very little (about 150W) and even
at full load after startup it's still drawing only about 200W. Of course, when
sleeping it's drawing almost no power at all (10W?)
