Do your remote accounts support IMAP?  You can have each machine in your house 
get the email in Mail.app using IMAP.   This is how I do it.  My desktop, my 
notebook, my iPhone, my netbook, and my business office machine all read email 
directly from the remote servers using IMAP, which is a server based protocol 
so it leaves mail on the server...
