Note, as I said, this is not purely a driver issue (not that we have real 
drivers in OS X anyway) and 10.6.4 may not resolve this, you may need to wait 
for the next bootable release, not just an update. 

Your best options in order are:

(1) Clean install from the Installer CD/DVD, reinstall any third party app, 
copy over your $HOME and data. 

(2) Clean install from the Installer, as root (preferably in SUM, logged in via 
ssh or the Terminal) copy over any missing applications (which should be 
self-contained .apps or should have supporting code in /Library), and 
everything in /Library. You shouldn't have anything in /System that doesn't 
belong to Apple. Then copy over your $HOME and data.

This presumes this is a single user machine. Otherwise you could restore OD 
too, but better to just recreate accounts and copy over their $HOMEs.
