iOS and OS X may converge at some point, but I suspect there will be a "desktop
iOS" flavor - specifically for doing things iOS can't (and never will be able
to) do, such as development, etc. Using iOS for anything other than trivial
browsing, email, book reading, gaming and the like can be a very frustrating
experience. Whereas OS X allows you to do what you want in the way you want,
iOS forces you into a straightjacket: "It's our way or the highway", a la
Microsoft. Different markets, and there always will be.
