The model is broken for how Google makes money yes. This is about money, period. Well money and control. I do agree the current model needs serious fixing but I don't think what Google i pushing is really that much better. I don't want ads on my phone. I don't want my data being mined and sold to an ad vendor. What I'd like is simply for contracts to go away.
