Hi, Rudolf,

I had not been aware that the handbook delivered with the machine would have outlined that. I had only been aware, rather, of what I considered SOP for new computers--upgrade but don't downgrade, as drivers and other features might not be compatible. Apologies for the misinformation.

Misinformations happens, Andrew, as you may see from my last posting in reply to Steve Harley's Mail :-) But it's in fact not so much a misinformation as it looks like, because even Apple, in one of their technical documents state you should always run the computer with the system it is shipped with (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2186?viewlocale=en_US ) Nevertheless the question of which system can run on whhat machine is before all a hardware question, and the Mini late 2009 model uses the same hardware as and therefore is nothing more than a quick refresh of the Mac mini (early 2009 model) with just a faster CPU (well yes, and a bigger drive and double the RAM), which still shipped with Leo. Anyhow, when googling the question of downgrading a Mac's system (especially: Mac Mini), you'll find that this had been already discussed in different forums (e.g. here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=806843) and on Ebay, you even can buy late 2009 Mini models with 10.5.8 on it.... The only way to definitely find out if a system runs on a specific computer is to insert the respective installer DVD, the system then detects itself if it can be installed or not... oh, I think I got a little bit away of my original subject by now.
