Pretty sure that with "biggest downside is the glossy screen" he meant to say 
"biggest downside - of the iMac - is the glossy screen".

Note that you can get a top of the line iMac with as many cores, more ram, a 
larger HD and a 27" display for *cheaper* than the entry level Mac Pro (with no 
display).

For most folks I'd recommend getting an iMac, it allows you to upgrade more 
often, and a better value for your money. Unless money is no concern, of 
course, in which case the Mac Pro's are awfully nice (I have one at work, and 
it's crazy fast).
