I had heard that the App Store would find existing applications as installed and you would need to delete them before being able to install from the store. When I open the store though TextWrangler wasn't recognized, so I clicked install. Both on my laptop and my desktop, when installing from the "Purchases" screen, it seemed to replace the existing bundle (even within a subfolder of /Applications). Stuffit Expander on the other hand, installed to the root of /Applications. My guess is it has something to do with the bundle ID and version being identical or not, though who knows for sure. One thing it'd be nice to see would be a way for developers to provide an upgrade path for users to migrate to the AppStore. I envision the user providing a receipt or registration number, and optional upgrade fee, to the developer who can then generate promo codes. Though, Apple probably intends developers to lower prices and charge the full price with each major upgrade. -- arno s hautala /-| [email protected] pgp b2c9d448 _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
