I have an application that behaves weirdly on my account but works fine on the
guest account as well as on a second account on the same machine.

My guess is thus that the problem comes from issues with my local files.

So, I put aside everything in Library that was not required by the system,
rebooted, but the application still won't work.

I've also put aside all the dotted preference files that I could find from the
command line, rebooted again, but the application still won't work correctly.

What else could I try ?

ps: The application is OpenOffice.org (and LibreOffice) and the bug is: when I
write a file name with non ascii letters then the non ascii parts are replaced
with "?" and when I try to open a file with non ascii characters in the path
then the application says that the file does not exist. NeoOffice does not show
that behavior.
