My understanding - and it's been years since ive tested this assumption, but 
I'm sure I did - is the encryption is done in chunks in the DMG, so if a chunk 
is corrupted you won't be able to decrypt it, but it shouldn't make the entire 
DMG unreadable._______________________________________________
