As for the memory, maybe I will just try it with the original 2-GB for a while. If I do decide to replace it, the MacFixit site (that someone pointed me to) suggested that one just needs to rotate and remove the round disc on the bottom, which exposes two RAM slots, so it sounds like the memory is user-replaceable and easy to access. If Front Row does not work, or stops working soon, I will try Plex. Thanks for the suggestion.
