no. Any software you buy on the App Store can be installed on any machine you
own from your iTunes account. This is part of the deal. And none of the
software has user keys. It is all built-in to the store software that you
embed in your app to get it on the store.

I think you will see most of the folks give up distributing the software
themselves. Being relieved of all the license stings and user keys, having to
process your own payments, and have your own servers and download capability is
not worth the 30%.

I have an OS X app that I want to sell. If the App Store would allow me to put
time limited licenses on so that people would have to in-app purchase a renewal
every year, I would jump at the App Store for my OS X software despite the 30%.
(It is specialty software that would need to sell for hundreds of dollars
based on projected sales numbers to be worth it, or a yearly $35-$40 fee. The
several hundred dollars sales price is a non-starter as no one will take the
chance on it for that sort of money so I will be going the yearly license fee
route, which unfortunately the Mac App Store does not support. But having to
not worry about collecting payment myself, not having to run my downloads, and
to not deal with my own licensing schemes/keys etc would be worth it for the
30% cut).

I don't have any SW on my Mac from the Mac App Store (yet) but do have some
software that is now available there where the developer/seller has stopped
their own distribution. (Pixelmator comes to mind)
