Interesting. I have a mini hooked up via HDMI->DVI to a monitor and it’s never 
changed resolution. 1920x1050. I would have to suspect the TV or the turning 
on/off the TV is the issue.

By the way, I calculated the energy cost of leaving my 32” HDTV one 24 hours 
away, seven days a week for a year and it’s about $40-45. A year. I don’t leave 
it on all the time because it’s in the bedroom, but when we put one in the 
kitchen I am going to load it up with all the family pictures and just run it 
full-time. At night it will act as a night-light for stumbling in at 3am and 
getting a snack from the fridge.
