I recently drilled through the ceiling to get ethernet to my Mac Mini (and

you're going to see performance hit hard.

I've not seen this issue, but I am in an apartment so the distance between the
two points is fairly small.

i get excellent results streaming from older MBP --ethernet--> Time Capsule (older N version) --wifi--> 1/4" bronze plate, drywall, insulation, stucco, air, asphalt shingles, insulation, drywall, air --> AppleTV2; the wifi distance is about 30 feet

there are around ten other wifi signals nearby, some of which are strong, but i've chosen my channels strategically; the iPhones are 802.11g only, so they don't slow down the N signal, but i suppose the iPad2 might; i only stream from the MBP "server", not from internet because Qwest/Centurylink crippled traditional DSL when they brought fiber to the local box that's only 150 feet away
