I'm seeing an issue with Messages on 10.8.1 and I'm curious whether it's
happening for anyone else.
Randomly, and with no indication whatsoever that this is happening, some
conversations will stop being logged. It also doesn't seem to be consistent;
some conversations will be logged while other conversations going on
simultaneously will end up not being logged and are not saved to disk. My only
indication that the conversation is not logged is when I open a new chat with
someone and notice that the conversation history is missing our most recent
conversations. Searching for the log file shows that no such log exists for the
date and time of our previous conversation.
Quitting the program and reopening seems to fix it and all conversations are
again logged, but I've already seen this happen at least 3 or 4 times in the
last week, and those are just the instances that I've actually noticed.
I'm assuming it's a bug, since Messages is mostly new, and not necessarily a
problem with my system. Anyone else?
