for months now, my iMac 27 i7 quad core becomes unresponsive due to insane amounts of disk chatter. When I check the console, the log invariably reports mdworker stuff. I recently saw some tweets on this as well here's a snapshot from my console ![]() it gets to the point where when this is happening, I can enter a search in safari or try to load a page, and Safari, as an example, just stalls waiting for the chatter to die down - the UI feels like I'm running a 25 Mhz computer from back in the 80s is this disk chatter something that is uncommon? or are others seeing similar I have Little Snitch running and when this chatter is happening, I'm not seeing any unusual network requests - Kevin Sent from iCloud via my iMac 27 "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - Steve Jobs |
