I don't own a Magic Mouse, so I'm navigating by feel here.

I know that the Magic Mouse doesn't have the hardware to do pinch gestures, so 
we agree it can't be that.

I think it does have the hardware to do two-finger swiping.  If you hold down 
Control and do a two-finger swipe it should magnify the current screen.  But it 
seems to be a reach that you're doing that by accident.

Check the Accessibility system preference and see if you have any unusual 
settings.

It would also be instructive for a diagnosis to know whether the zoom you are 
experiencing is fuzzy (i.e., magnification of each pixel) or sharp (i.e., 
redisplay at a larger point size).

I know on the iPhone if you double-tap certain pages in Safari, they will zoom 
so you can read them, but I don't think that behavior is anywhere in Mac Safari.
