I understand Apple doesn't like people to have to use options.  However, I 
would prefer "Battery Life" as the default and wouldn't worry that I didn't get 
maximum battery life when I need to use it unplugged.  I rarely use my laptop 
on battery power (it's basically a portable desktop).

Sure but it is not that much of a problem for me (as mentioned above).  

It just means my battery degrades faster than it really needs to.
