Thanks for the information. I tried one of the online converters (Zamzar), which I had never heard of before. I have 12 single-page WordPerfect documents, so I tried the smallest one and it looks like it worked, or at least worked well enough for my purposes. Thanks! It was fairly painless (and free). One goes to the Zamzar web site: http://www.zamzar.com/ and then follows the directions: choose the file to upload, choose the output format (including .doc, among many others), provide an email address, and click the convert button. I hope there are no downsides, such as getting a lot of spam, but the file conversion part worked fairly well and fairly quickly -- the converted file was emailed to me within a few minutes.
