I was under the impression that it read the disc ID and compared that with the 
Gracenote (spit) database.

I wouldn’t worry about it, it will be trivial to sort out the non-lossless 
tracks. If it’s too much of a pain, there’s always Dupin by Doug Adams, well 
worth the $15.

Besides, it gives some money to Doug Adams, who is pretty much the king of 
iTunes scripts, so that’s a good thing.

Hmm.. it looks like Dupin Lite (via the Mac App Store) is cheaper ($6) and does 
the duplicate elimination part of Dupin, sounds like a great bargain.
