Hi:

Thanks for the suggestions.  Although I had thought of a separate desktop 
background for each space, I never thought of adding a number to it.  Simple 
procedure using Affinity Photo or something similar.

The app you suggested looks useful for anyone who uses a large number of 
separate spaces but for someone like me who only uses 4 at most, it’s probably 
overkill.
