I hope whoever decided to lobotomize Disk Utility in El Cap got fired, but I 
suspect he got promoted.

I'm pretty sure you can get the former information style from System 
Information.  Also third-party tools like Drive Genius are good about reporting 
it.

I suspect there is some UNIX command that will give you the info, but I have no 
idea what it might be.
