I don't think this procedure is going to do anything for you at all. For example, assume a guy with an email address of [email protected] created an Apple ID of [email protected]. He gets laid off from Acme and takes a new job. Since he can't get mail anymore at his old contact email address at acme.com, he has to reassociate his Apple ID with his new email address, [email protected]. That article tells him how to do that. His Apple ID is still [email protected], and nothing will ever change that — it just doesn't coincide with his email address any more. (There are plenty of Apple users in this state.) But you're in a different boat. Yes, you could change the contact email address of [email protected] to [email protected], but all that does is break the link between your Apple ID and your iCloud email address. You still HAVE the iCloud email address, and it is no more or less secure than it was yesterday. Unless you tell Apple to destroy your iCloud email account (and I'm not even sure whether or not there is even a way to request that), you haven't really done anything to affect that.. I'd leave the link alone until you're sure what problem you have — if any. Theres no reason to complicate your accounts for no reason. _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
