The longer I use my Mac, the more features seem to degrade⦠Since maybe Tiger or so, I've been able to hover over most links in mail messages, whereupon a little "v" symbol appears to the right, which when clicked brings up the same sort of page preview that the spacebar provides for files in the Finder. Or at least it used to.
For the past week or so, I've just been getting this stupid icon instead: Sometimes the token that says "view" says "HTML" or something else, but regardless of the variations, the icon simply screams, "I can't handle this anymore." You can launch Safari to read it, or you can go without, but there's no more "preview" middle ground. Usually when I see something broken like this, it means some corrupted preference file or whatever needs a good old-fashioned deleting so it can get re-created properly. Anybody here know which ones I should look at?
