I've heard of "quick actions" but I can't quite figure out what they are.

There used to be the Services menu appearing on a right-click with relevant
services appearing there. Now that is gone and instead I have, for ex in
Finder, a Quick Action menu that leads to a "Configure" item that leads me to
the Extension pane of System Preferences where none of what I want to do is
present.

All that is very good but Services that exist and are very useful are nowhere
to be found in the contextual menu and I have to either assign shortcuts to
call them or go to the application Services menu.

Is that the expected behavior under Catalina ?

What are these quick actions ? Are they easy to write ?
