the dynaloader failures seem to be associated with incompatible modules.

There was a recommendation to delete the entire previous install (in 
System/Library/Perl and Library/Perl before installing the new 5.6.1 in 
it's place.

I had had similar problems on Linux where apparenly, some older 
libraries were still [trying to] work with the new installation.

Otherwise, if you are intalling into the 5.6.0 OSX release ... is it 
possible, that your new settings for making the OpenbaseDBD compile 
correctly, contains some settings with which the original perl 
installation had no previous links?

if you run configure at this time would it find the libraries which 
contain the symbols you seem to be missing?
