Serial Port Access via USB in OSX Perl?

For Mac OSX Perl 5.6:
Anyone know if there are serial port modules that "do the right thing" 
for Powerbooks which only have serial ports via USB?
I am not sure there are even USB serial port  drivers for OSX  yet come 
to think of it, let alone Perl modules. But I thought I'd ask.
