I've been running X for a couple of weeks now, and decided to get going with
installing some extra Perl modules so I could start doing stuff with XML... First I
couldn't get the CPAN module to talk to the outside world (problems with being sat on
a NAT'd network), but I sorted that and then realised that CPAN was attempting to
install 5.6.1, after the first time it failed I checked around the archives, found the
instructions for building it yourself, and then proceeded. I downloaded the 5.6.1
tarball, and did the pre-configure steps, but then on running configure at the
kit-checking stage it reported that my kit wasn't complete and I shouldn't proceed:

I proceeded anyway... the make went fine (or so it seemed) but make test causes a
(reproducible) Kernel panic!
In short, do I have a duff package, or is it more serious than that... I'm running
10.0.4 on an Indigo iBook with 192MB Ram...
