Why not use one of the *many* GUI admin/query tools available. They 
are much easier to use than the command line.

But if you want to stick with the command line, try copying/pasting 
even smaller chunks a time (that worked when I had exact same 
problem) or try drag & drop (if your editor support dragging text).

PS. My current favorite admin tool is SQLGrinder. My previous 
favorite was MacSQL. But I'm looking forward to version 2 of MacSQL; 
should be quite good.
