>>>> SUMMARY: installing perl-5.6.1 on Mac OS X 10.1 <<<<
http:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg00895.html

1. Are these instructions the received opinion on how to upgrade from
5.6.0 to 5.6.1?

2. Will I need to rebuild all my Perl Modules after upgrading?

3. Regarding the tests that Ray mentions failing, what are the
implications of pragma/warnings, db-btree, db-recno and posix not
working?

(I understand roughly what these do - I just have no idea how
fundamental they are and what stuff is dependent on them)

4. Or is it better to upgrade to an even newer version of Perl?

5. When Apple next upgrades the Perl that ships with OS, will having
upgraded cause any problems?

Sorry to be a bore with all these questions but trying to upgrade such
an important part of the system makes me feel queasy considering that I
can write perl scripts but have very little understanding of how it
actually works. Unfortunately HTML::Mason's error reporting is almost
uselessly borken under 5.6.0 and the only solution apparently is to move
on up. :(
