Which begs the question of what the hell *is* this list for, anyway?

It's probably going to become rapidly useless, if all goes 
according to plan.  If perl works fine on OS X and is relatively 
painless, then there will be more and more questions from OS X 
people, new to Perl, wanting to know about this or that syntax, 
or how to install CPAN modules or something.  The questions 
won't really have anything to do with OS X, but they'll be from 
OS X people wanting to know about Perl.

Or, maybe it's a good place to discuss development of OS 
X-specific perl tools.  It sure hasn't been used that way very 
much so far, though.  It's mostly been troubleshooting and OT 
stuff - it's just that I don't mind the OT stuff, I can ignore 
it if I don't want to read it.  That's what mail filters are for.
