 man -k hfs [enter]

And got back -

SetFile(1) - set attributes of HFS+ files
hfs.util(8) - helps mount, probe, and unmount hfs filesystems

[outerlimits:~/Install] sneex% locate *File
/Developer/Tools/SetFile
/Developer/Tools/GetFileInfo

[outerlimits:~/Install] sneex% /Developer/Tools/GetFileInfo .

type: ""
creator: ""

[outerlimits:~/Install] sneex% /Developer/Tools/GetFileInfo FD*

file: "FD_Stat.perl"
type: ""
creator: ""
