Well, I'm one of those newbies who upgraded to 5.8.0 for no real
reason. Actually, my reasoning was that even-numbered versions were
supposed to be stable and I had read some web page about someone's
expectation that Jag would have 5.8.0. So I did the upgrade which was
rather painless. Most modules seem to work fine except for some parts
of the HTML bundle.
But can someone tell us, newbies, what we should expect in the
transition to 5.8.0.
I guess the main reason a newbie will try to get newer versions is not
to have to relearn everything right away. In fact, before I understood
what it was, I thought about waiting for Perl6!
We newbies need more info...
