You didn't need to remove it, just make sure that "quartz-wm& " is launched. (IIRC...the name might be quartzwm). My .xinitrc launches a half dozen apps and places them all at exactly the right places on my screen. I really didn't want to redo it. Apple's X11 has been great. Cut, Copy and Paste work perfectly from both the mouse and keyboard. Even command line pbcopy and pbpaste work. After about 20 minutes I removed Terminal.App from my dock and deinstalled both XDarwin.App and OrborosX.App. I've been doing everything from xterms. If Apple can make running X11 a pleasant experience, I imagine anything is possible.
