That is interesting.Looks like the compiled binary is locked to perl 5.6, so it doesn't work for me with perl 5.8. I could try to compile it, but I haven't tried that yet.http://perl-pad.sourceforge.net/
Except for the CamelBones part, it is just plain Perl and should run fine on 5.8 .
After reading many tales of desperation about upgrading to 5.8 on Jaguar, I decided to stick with 5.6 for the moment, so I have no real know-how here but it seems to me that if CamelBones works, so should PerlPad.
Does CamelBones work for you?
(I suppose you have to compile CamelBones as well for you Perl 5.8 )
If CB works and PerlPad fails, you just made it to the top of my ToDo list.
BBedit 7.0.1 certainly handles services, which is why I wanted to try it to see if I had the same problem with BBEdit - because if so it's a problem with perl-pad instead as other services work with BBEdit 7.I only have BBEdit Lite (6.1.2 for Mac OS X) which does not seem to support any kind of services ....
If I understand Paul McCann's post to this list correctly though, he made it work and even assigned a new key-equivalent that gets through.
Cheers,
Thilo
