And ignore the "anonymous friend" who told you to drag-and-drop module files, and told you that CPAN doesn't work on Jaguar. He's completely clueless.
Just for the record, I recently did a clean install of MacOS 10.1 and afterwards CPAN did not work at all. Since I had 10.3 already coming in the snail mail I gave up and waited for it to arrive. After doing a clean install of 10.3 all was fine.
