I would guess something like: MacOSX::File would be able to do the job (http://search.cpan.org/~dankogai/MacOSX-File-0.71/File.pm)

But I have not been able to get it to differentiate between directories and bundles, but then again neither does the standard:

/Developer/Tools/GetFileInfo
