I've come to the conclusion that what I was trying to do was
fundamentally wrong. As Carl said right at the beginning, I'd be
better off sticking with native SQL data-structures. What I wanted to
do, though, was take a DBM-file database and stick it into PostgreSQL
so that my DBM-file database became a SQL one. Lately I've been
wondering what exactly I had hoped to achieve by doing this.
Anyway, thanks once again: it really is a privilege to have access to
such intelligent, insightful assistance!
