The short story:
Ftp Mac_Perl_520r4_appl.bin from CPAN
Unstuff it => Mac_Perl_520r4_appl with a VISE icon
Click it, select destination folder, got a Perl readme screen, continue, easy install,
got Anarchie.
The installation log file is dated: 1 May 2001 2:46 (UTC +2).
Downloading was shortly earlier, between 2:15 and 2:40.
I don't have much more. However, I was not extremely surprised. About 6 months ago, I
downloaded a file labeled BBEdit Lite 4.6 from BareBones. It contained BBEdit 6.0
demo. Tried again one day later, same thing.
How can this happen, I'd like to know.
