One good list, ENABLE, may be found at

I find /usr/dict/words to be unsuitable for most uses. It is intended for
use with the spell program, so it contains only root words and irregular
declinations, rather than a full list of words. It may also contain
things that aren't really words; for example, on this system the words file
contains various Roman numerals.
