I think you neglected to do something mentioned near the top of
macperldelta, in the "Incompatible Changes" section (which perhaps I have
not stressed strongly enough that people must read):

|Note: With cpan-mac it was recommended that site_perl be added to the
|Libraries preferences, so that its modules would override the ones that
|came with MacPerl.  If you keep your old site_perl, MacPerl will fail.
|Either clean it out, or remove it from the Libraries preferences.

You clearly have Archive::Tar and Mac::Memory being loaded from site_perl,
which is incorrect (and Mac::Memory rightfully bombs out, since you are
using a version [most likely] from cpan-mac, for 5.004).  You can keep your
old site_perl around as long as you remove it from the Libraries prefs (so
it comes *after* lib:, not before it), or clean out any conflicting
libraries already existing in lib:.

I don't know, but hopefully these mysteries we will unravel over the next
few months as I attempt to make Mac::Glue work with all Carbon and Cocoa
apps.
