Howdy!

I can't seem to find the clues I'm clearly missing.

I'm finally getting off my duff and trying to get some stuff up and running
under MacPerl (latest version), and I need some modules installed.

My first hurdle was getting CPAN configured. The configuration process got
as far as asking me to pick a continent, but it just sat there and spun its
wheel. I did have a good load of MIRRORED.BY. Manually filling the 'urllist'
with a selection of likely sites got me past that problem.

It appears that I don't have Compress::Zlib; I do want to load XML::Twig
which requires XML::Parser.

Is there a tutorial of some sort to clue me in on how to handle this?
I think I might be best served by "words of one syllable or less". :)
If there is no such beast, I could be persuaded to prepare such, if I only
knew empirically how to deal with the whole mess.

Thanks in advance for your indulgence of my ignorance.

yours,
Michael (who is available for immediate employment...)
