Thanks for your advice John and Joshua. I'm trying to upload the script to a client's webserver running OS 9.x.
I have completely forgotten how things are done in MacOS 9.
the permissions are set to match the permissions of the functioning scripts. I've noticed that when I use Fetch or Dreamweaver MX when uploading the file the file size says 0! Huh? I've tried refreshing the window of both programs and double checked the file size (40k).
what could be doing this?
Can't say. It's a text file and you're uploading it as text, correct? and not as binary or MacBinary, and you're uploading from another Mac running MacOS 9?
Have you had any other cgis you've put on his server working?
