The way this branch will work is that the distinction between archives and what's installed will be gone. In the case of -b, that option won't make sense anymore since "installed" is having the image file (archive as called now) available, so you just have to activate the right one. For -s, it's like now if you disable archive mode, just uninstall the port to build from source.
