I think the -b and -s options were quite useful to select if archives
should be used or the software should be built from source. How do
you
think this will work in the future?
The way this branch will work is that the distinction between
archives and
what's installed will be gone. In the case of -b, that option
won't make
sense anymore since "installed" is having the image file (archive
as called
now) available, so you just have to activate the right one. For -
s, it's
like now if you disable archive mode, just uninstall the port to
build from
source.
Is there an explanation somewhere about this branch, what goals
you're trying to accomplish, etc.? Is there a ticket or a wiki page?
