I approve of that, since we already use underscore to separate version from
revision; makes sense to then also use underscore to separate epoch from
version.
The existing code does this.
It seems unfortunate to make the epoch user-visible at all, since a handful of
ports have large unsightly epochs. :/
True, but it's good those are rare.
