So far I have not had the time to try to reproduce the problem on
my system. If you can figure out what is wrong, let me know. You
could also consult the developers of pango on their mailing list.
As I mentioned, I'm totally out of my depth here. I haven't the
foggiest clue what to tell Pango people who don't know MacPorts
that would get useful info out of them.
I see you did send an email to the pango list; thanks. Hopefully
they'll have some ideas.
So, since I actually need to use Gnucash once in a while, what's
the most efficient method to undo all my attempted upgrades.
Gnucash 2.2.9_1 will install, but not run without out the upgrade
to Pango.
"port installed gnucash" will show you all the versions of gnucash
that are installed on your system. If 2.2.9_1 is active but doesn't
work right, you can "sudo port deactivate gnucash @2.2.9_1" and then
"sudo port activate" whatever version does work.
