This is speculation on my part, but it seems like #includes are being done a bit differently between 10.4 and 10.5; including sys/types.h should get fd_mask (and something for 10.5 is probably bringing that in since xterm builds fine for me on 10.5). Not sure if the issue is with xterm or one of the proto ports (like xorg-xproto) though.
