You could have run it as your normal administrative user. That's what most
users do, and that works for most ports, but not some; see previous link.
Instead of running "xcodebuild -license" as the root user, could you try being your
normal administrative user and running "sudo xcodebuild -license"? I seem to remember
another user reporting there was a difference between the two.
No difference. All the same.
I even tried to remove both xcode and macports, delete their data and
install again. No result.
