sane-backends version 1.0.24, which is what is in MacPorts, includes the genesys backend version 1.0-63 (and many other backends, each with their own different version numbers). If sane-backends is not working with your scanner, please report the bug to the developers of sane-backends so that they can fix it and release a new version of sane-backends.
